1958 Ariel Leader Restoration - Part 4
Nearly finished, now I have to prepare the panniers for fitting and get the sound damping panels made and fitted to the engine cover, this will not be easy to fit I'm sure.
Panniers are now fitted with the side panels, it is a bit of a fiddle to get the side panels fitted, easier to take the pillion foot rest off before fitting or removing the panel.
Now with the original windscreen fitted, unfortunately a new windscreen and fitting rubber is not available at this time, keeping an eye out for an undamaged one!
The battery compartment and seat locking system. The petrol filler cap is also under the saddle.
As with all two stoke machines, it's always handy to carry a plug spanner and a spare fuse in the tool tray.
A handy lined storage area in the dummy tank also giving access to the steering lock system.
Now completed and been ridden for a couple of miles to check everything works. Had to test ride it between rain storms, been a really bad couple of weeks for weather.
Yours truly, waiting for the owner to collect it and ride it to his home. Quite sorry to see it go, although it has presented quit a few challenges in the seven month's it has taken to restore.
