Past Restoration Projects - AJS 16 MS

AJS 16 MS

This is the bike that started it all, I bought this bike at the Shepton Mallett auto jumble in 1992.

It was in quite a poor condition, painted green, but it was complete and a runner.

I did not really have a clue about restoration, however a mate came to the rescue with the name of a company that would grit blast all the metal parts.

While that was in progress a gentleman went in to the grit blast company, recognised the frame as that of an AJS and left a message for me to call him, I did just that and discovered that he was a member of the AJS Matchless owners club, he invited me to join.

It really took off from there with help being offered from all quarters, including a guy that would do all the paint work, the painting was superb if somewhat expensive, it was then that I vowed to do all my own restoration work one day including painting!!
