Past Restoration Projects - 1953 BSA Gold Star BB34
This was restored by me in 2014 but for a friend who's father had passed away and left him this very desirable machine.
When it came to me it was in one piece but a non-runner with a good deal of rust and oil dripping from various places, the owner provided me with a 'new' tank but said that he could not fit it for some reason
The model was found to be a BB34 1953 500cc when dismantled it became obvious that the owner had purchased the wrong tank so the existing tank had to be refurbished along with pretty well everything else, very expensive, new wheel rims and tyres complete repaint all new chrome and an overhauled engine not to mention a new exhaust and silencer.
On completion of the rebuild it started after a couple of prods of the kickstart, no electrical charge that turned out to be a faulty original voltage regulator easily fixed and now on the road with a very happy mate.
